Former Rebel All-American Chris Riley Qualifies for Vegas PGA TOUR Event

Chris Riley, who is serving as a special assistant to the UNLV Rebels golf team, spent Monday at DragonRidge Country Club attempting to qualify for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open PGA TOUR event. His time wasn’t wasted as he fired a 62 to lead all scores and now he will play TPC Summerlin along with a few other Rebel alumni.

Other Rebels in the field are Chad Campbell, Ryan Moore, Charley Hoffman, Derek Ernst, and Andres Gonzales.

Riley was a 4-time All-American while at UNLV and later represented the United States in the Ryder Cup. He also is a PGA TOUR champion. In all, he has amassed more than $11.5 million during his long professional career. He has played a limited PGA TOUR schedule over the last few years, but he made the cut in both events he played this year.

Riley is a member of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame and has been helping as an assistant to UNLV Head Coach Dwaine Knight and assistant Philip Rowe. Riley played for UNLV from 1992-96. Check out the full Chris Riley bio here.
