Rebels Host Top Teams, Players at Southern Highlands Collegiate

Once again, the UNLV men’s golf team is hosting one of the top college tournaments of the year. It’s a who’s who of college golf at Southern Highlands, the home course of the Rebels. Several of the nation’s top programs will be on display at Southern Highlands Collegiate. The event is scheduled for March 6-8.

As always, admission is free for the tournament that each year ranks at or near the top of the collegiate golf schedule in terms of strength of field.

The 2017 edition includes six of the nation’s top-10 teams according to Golfweek and 10 of the country’s top 25.

Teams include No. 25 Arizona State, California, No. 2 Florida, No. 4 Illinois, New Mexico, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 3 Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, No. 23 San Diego State, SMU, No. 10 Stanford, TCU, No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 17 UNLV and No. 7 USC.

UNLV has won the team title at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in seven of the last 12 years. USC was last year’s tournament winner, while the Rebels finished 12th.

UNLV has played in six events this season, recording a first, two seconds and a third-place finish.
