As UNLV hall of fame head coach Dwaine Knights, says, “The 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate is going to a whole new level.” In a first, the event will be live streamed by a USA Today Network and Golfweek partnership and in another first, the individual champion will receive an exemption into the PGA Tour’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Oct. 3-6 at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.

“We are thrilled to bring the Southern Highlands Collegiate to our dedicated and knowledgeable audience of golf fans” said Patrick Leahy, Associate Publisher of Golfweek and Vice President of Revenue for USA TODAY Golf.  “Building upon the success of our live stream of The Prestige last week, and the positive feedback and interest we’ve received from other events, this is a great opportunity to showcase the universities and top players competing in this major tournament.”

Golfweek will host the tournament with exclusive live coverage and player interviews of the action as it unfolds at Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas. Families, friends, and golf fans will be able to enjoy the eight hours of live coverage and replay produced by Thaler Media/K2 Sports Ventures using state-of-the-art technology. Coverage will begin with the second round on Monday, March 4 and end with the final round on Tuesday, March 5. Coverage begins both days at noon PST. Veteran broadcaster David Marr III will host the coverage, with Golfweek’s Lance Ringler providing interviews and analysis alongside Steve Scott and Ned Michaels.

“We are excited about this new partnership and the exposure it will bring,” said UNLV men’s golf head coach Dwaine Knight. “We look forward to showcasing UNLV and the Las Vegas community, and anticipate another fantastic week at Southern Highlands featuring some of the best college golf programs in the country.”
